Sensei Cheri Robertson

Sensei Cheri began training in Can Ryu Jiu Jitsu in 1993, while looking for an alternative to traditional sports in her area. She obtained her Shodan (first degree black belt) in 1999.  In 2001 she opened her own dojo in Renfrew. Now a mother of three, she holds the rank of Godan (fifth degree black belt) and has ran a successful martial arts school for over 16 years.

Sensei Rob Dodd

Sensei Rob holds the rank of Yondan (fourth degree black belt) and has been training in Kazoku Jiu Jitsu since 2004.  Due to being a licensed security guard, many of Sensei Rob’s lessons are based on real life experience.  His sense of humour and genuine care for the well being of his students provides a safe, comfortable atmosphere in which to train.

Sensei Kayla Pilon

Sensei Kayla began training with Sensei Cheri in 2011. She began coming out to practice with her brother and discovered her love of the sport. Sensei Kayla obtained her Shodan in 2016.

Sensei Jody, being one of the Arnprior dojo’s first students, has been there since day one when the school opened in 2012.  He obtained his shodan in 2018.  He also runs a guitar repair business, among other ventures.

Sensei Kaileyanna

Sensei Kaileyanna

Sensei Kaileyanna began training with Sensei Cheri in 2010 when she was only four years old.  In 2018 she was the youngest to obtain her Shodan at the age of 13.  Sensei Kaileyanna also enjoys training and wrestling with the local wrestling club.  She has since encouraged her siblings to join her in  the Kazoku Jiu Jitsu family as well.

Sensei Rod Jamieson

Sensei Rod began training in 2012.  He decided to join in after watching his daughter enjoying her time on the mats, quickly discovering that Jiu Jitsu is a great way to stay active, and is a fun social activity.  He achieved the rank of Shodan in 2019.  Sensei Rod also trains regularly with Renfrew Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Club where he is a blue belt.

Sensei Connor began training in 2010.  He came to find something new in his life, and what he found was something he loved and people who he enjoyed being with.

Sensei Jimmy Leighton has been training since 2012.  He also has some wrestling experience.  Sensei Jimmy has a degree from Carillon University, is an avid collector of weapons and a world traveller having seen more than 35% of the world.
